While the Jenks Community Food Bank is coordinating to feed the students of the Jenks School District that are in need during the teacher walkout, they also need help to distribute food to the families that regularly come to the food bank on Wednesday’s. The distribution will start at the food bank but may need to move to the dining hall at the high school. They only need 10 volunteers to volunteer from 9:45-noon so sign up fast! It’s a great way to spend a few of your hours during the walkout. Contact me at email@example.com if you have any questions.
Thank you for your help!!!

In the likely event of a school closure next week, there will be families in the Jenks community that will need assistance with food throughout the day, especially the students benefiting from free or reduced lunches. The Jenks Community Food Bank needs your help to donate food or volunteer to feed our Trojans in the event of a school closure.
The Jenks Food Bank website (jenksfoodbank.org) has pages dedicated to this project. In the sidebar, there is a link to the Feeding Our Trojans: Project 4424 that has all the information outlining the food items needed, where to donate, how to donate funds, etc.
Before volunteering at the Jenks Community Food Bank, if you have never volunteered there before, make sure to fill out the volunteering form. If you are under the age of 18, you will need a parent/guardian to sign it. You can fill it out at the Food Bank or find the form on the website under volunteers.

On Fridays at 4pm, Trader Joe’s donates food to the Jenks Food Bank and it needs to be sorted and put in bags for families. On Saturday, the food is distributed to families. If you are under age 18, the first time you volunteer, you will need to have a parent sign a permission form to volunteer. This form is provided by the food bank and is good for all subsequent times of volunteering.
