JEE Clothing Closet

This is a late notice but if anyone would like to volunteer tomorrow (Saturday, April 21st) please come to the clothing closet at Jenks East Elementary. You will be helping with organizing the closet!

Board Member Applications

Board Member applications for the 2018-19 school year are now available! If you think you would be a good addition to the Jenks Key Club board and want to organize service projects for members, then feel free to apply! Applications are available to be picked up at Mrs. Langley’s room 216 in the JMASC. Board member applications are due by Friday, May 4, at 4:00pm to Mrs. Langley’s room.

Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast

On Saturday April 28th, the Jenks Kiwanis will host their Annual Pancake Breakfast at the Jenks United Methodist Church from 7 am to 11 am. This breakfast fund raises for Senior Scholarships. You can earn hours by just attending and enjoying pancakes!! You will earn 1 service hour by attending and eating the breakfast. If you bring another person (for example, your mom, your dad, or a friend who is not in Key Club), you will get 2 service hours. The cost is $7 per person. After the breakfast, go to to turn in your hours!

Feeding Families at the Jenks Community Food Bank

While the Jenks Community Food Bank is coordinating to feed the students of the Jenks School District that are in need during the teacher walkout, they also need help to distribute food to the families that regularly come to the food bank on Wednesday’s. The distribution will start at the food bank but may need to move to the dining hall at the high school.  They only need 10 volunteers to volunteer from 9:45-noon so sign up fast! It’s a great way to spend a few of your hours during the walkout.  Contact me at if you have any questions.

Roster Collector During Walkout

Mrs. Kimberling is helping coordinate transportation for the days teachers are travelling to OKC during the walk-out.  She is in need of 5-6 volunteers to help meet buses when they return to JHS, collect roster from driver, count riders as they exit, then return the roster to her in the Math and Science Building room 117.  Since several buses will arrive at the same time, we will need several students to help from 3:30 – 6:30 each day.

Feeding Our Trojans Volunteering Sign Up

If you want to help Feed Our Trojans during the potential teacher walkout, the Jenks Community Food Bank created a Signup Genius to help volunteers figure out what time they are volunteering. Make sure to include your email when signing up or sign up for the reminds outlined in the description, as the schedule might change a little. Make sure to read the descriptions at the top before signing up.

Feeding Our Trojans

In the likely event of a school closure next week, there will be families in the Jenks community that will need assistance with food throughout the day, especially the students benefiting from free or reduced lunches. The Jenks Community Food Bank needs your help to donate food or volunteer to feed our Trojans in the event of a school closure.

The Jenks Food Bank website ( has pages dedicated to this project. In the sidebar, there is a link to the Feeding Our Trojans: Project 4424 that has all the information outlining the food items needed, where to donate, how to donate funds, etc.

Before volunteering at the Jenks Community Food Bank, if you have never volunteered there before, make sure to fill out the volunteering form. If you are under the age of 18, you will need a parent/guardian to sign it. You can fill it out at the Food Bank or find the form on the website under volunteers.

Big Event Faculty Help

If you haven’t been able to sign up for the Big Event yet or want something else to help out with,  up to ten volunteers are needed to help move tables and chairs in the dining hall after enrollment conferences at 11:45 AM. Additionally, Mrs. Howald in Room 6173 of Building 6 would like some help with cleaning glassware anytime between 9:30 and 11:45 AM.

If you would like to help out, please email and show up at the Big Event on Friday!

Voting and the Big Event

If you are in good standing, do not forget to vote for the final run-off of next year’s Secretary position at !  Voting opened this morning and will close tomorrow, March 1st, at 4:00 PM.

Please choose the people that you think will do the best job.  If you do not know the candidates, please do not vote.

If you are not in good standing, you cannot vote. Not sure if you are in good standing and, therefore, eligible to vote? Go to , click on Hours and Standings, click on Check Standings, search for your name, and look at then last column – Total Points. If your “total points” is in green, you are in good standing and eligible to vote.  If your “total points” is in red, you are not in good standing and need to get in more volunteer hours!

Last note, there are still a few volunteer openings for the Big Event on March 2nd, check: and dontations are still needed for the faculty breakfast so please check  Please bring items to Mrs. Langley’s room tomorrow, March 1st, at 4:00 PM.
