World In A Box Day

World In A Box Day needs 8 volunteers for each shift on August 5th: 9am-1pm, 12:30pm-4:30pm, and 9am-4:30pm.  The event will be held at the Central Library (5th St and Denver Ave: 400 Civic Center Tulsa, OK 74103) in the Pocahontas Greadington Learning & Creativity Center.  There will be free parking in the library parkade.  World In A Box Day promotes the use of Tulsa Global Alliance’s Culture Boxes and will need volunteers for storytelling to kids, to help with setup and breakdown, to help with check-in, handouts, passing out surveys, and possibly to help with the booths. Jenks Middle School Schedule Pick Up

Jenks Middle School Schedule Pick Up needs 12 Key Club volunteers for each of the following shifts:  Aug 3rd 8:30-11:30, Aug 3rd 1:00-3:30, Aug 4th 8:30-11:30, and Aug 4th 1:00-3:30.  Volunteers will help with passing out items at various tables.  Wear a Key Club or Jenks shirt if you have one! 4th of July Watermelon Slice

Watermelon Slice on Fourth of July from 10-4.  Open shifts are from 12-2 and 2-4 and need 2 volunteers each.  Volunteers will cut watermelon slices and give them away on Jenks Main Street (by the Pink Lily) with the Kiwanis. Email specialprojects@jenkskeyclub.org to sign up!

Senior Soccer Banquet

The Senior Soccer Banquet on May 22nd needs a few volunteers to help setup, serve food, and clean up from 6pm-8:30pm at the JHS Math and Science Center. Please email specialprojects@jenkskeyclub.org to sign up!

Aerospace Night

The Community Aerospace Night needs volunteers to help hand schedules and “man” stations all over the Jenks Math and Science Center on May 20th.  There will be a variety of fun projects, shows in the planetarium, and scheduled activities that need volunteers to help them run smoothly.  The same people that came to Jenks with NASA in January will be here again!

There will be a shift from 4-7 that will help set up and kick off the event and a shift from 7-9:30ish to help with the event and tear down.

This is a great opportunity to get school DSG hours too!

Trash Bash and GradFast

The annual Kiwanis led Trash Bash is in need of two volunteers for the following shifts: 8-10, 10-12, 12-2, and 2-4 on May 13th. Please volunteer with a friend for this project! The Kiwanis sponsors Key Club and provides money for scholarships.  If you applied for a scholarship or want to in the future, this would be a good start to getting to know some of the Kiwanis members.  At the Trash Bash you help collect money and direct traffic for the people coming to dump some of their unwanted items.  It will be held on the east side of South Lakes Golf Course on Main St and Locust.

Also, from 10-12 on May 13th, the HS faculty are needed some help to set up for GradFest.  Please email deedrabarnes@gmail.com to sign up! This should be held in Building 5.

Stamp Out Hunger Food Sorting

The largest one-day food drive on Saturday, May 13 is in need of MANY volunteers (up to 120 people) from 6pm-9pm to help sort donated food at the Tulsa Space Center (7001 E 38th Street Tulsa OK, Bldg 3, Bay 77-87).   If family members also want to volunteer at this event, they are definitely welcome to do so.  A FREE dinner will be provided!! Jenks East Elementary Clothing Closet

The clothing closet at Jenks East Elementary is still in need of volunteers! This task will include sorting and organizing bags of donations – please report to building F and ask for Holly Enzbrenner. The hours would be anytime this week, Monday- Friday 2:30-4:30 until May 9th. Volunteers can help for as much or little time as they would like.

Update on Projects and the BarkWalk & Pet Fest

IMPORTANT: The BarkWalk & Pet Fest event that was scheduled for tomorrow in BA has been postponed and has been rescheduled to May 20th, 2017.  All the details remain the same.  If those of you who have signed up to volunteer cannot make the new date, all you need to do is remove yourself from the sign up – otherwise you will remain signed up to volunteer.

Handing Out Programs for Graduation

Key Clubbers are need to help distribute programs before Graduation on Monday, May 15th from 5:30pm – 7pm.  Volunteers should enter through the south doors of the Mabee Center (7777 S Lewis Ave, Tulsa, OK 74136) and will hand out the programs at the top of the escalators to the guests (doors open at 5:30).  Please email specialprojects@jenkskeyclub.org to sign up and for more details!
