It’s half way through January and time to get those key club hours in! I know Valentines Day is still a little ways away but this year at Grace Living Center we want enough to hand out to all our residents! You guys killed it with the Veterans Day cards but now we are hoping to have enough cards for all the residents at Grace so we’ll need a lot! For each card you turn in, you get half an hour of service that you can log for yourself on the website!
You have until February 10th to turn in your cards! Thank you guys so much for your service!
Please deliver cards to ms Langley’s room: Math and Science room 216
Hey Key Clubbers! December is going to come and go fast so you’ll want to make sure you get your service hours in! One way you can do that is on December 14th at Grace Living Center from 6:00pm-8:00pm. There will be 13 buses of the residents and we need volunteers for all buses just to talk and engage with the residents and enjoy the lights! It’s an easy and super fun way to get hours!
Remember if you go, you will need to submit your hours on the website AND email me a picture you took of yourself while serving and/or yourself with one of the residents. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you’re interested!
Thanks guys and have a great month! 🙂
As you know veterans day is next week, and they are celebrating with a ceremony at Grace Living Center.
They need cards for the veterans coming to visit! Write a simple card of thanks and receive a point!
Cards are due Wednesday by 3:45 in ms Langley’s Room (Math and Science room #216).
Interested in volunteering at HallowMarine? Spots are filling up fast, so sign-up ASAP! Details are below. If you have questions, e-mail email@example.com
October 27-31, the Oklahoma Aquarium will be transformed into a spooky (but not too scary!), Halloween adventure. Children will be coming to the aquarium to collect candy in their Halloween costumes while getting to see some marine life.
We need volunteers to help us from 6:00pm -9:30pm on all five days (You will need to arrive at 6 and stay until 9:30)! This means that if you volunteer at HallowMarine for two nights, then you have earned all of your required hours for October! Volunteers will be assisting with children’s games in the Pee Wee Pirate Zone, the candy trail, helping man our inflatables and clean up. This event is always a lot of fun with an in-house DJ and great pirate themed Halloween decorations. We will be needing approximately 35 volunteers each evening.
Feel free to wear a costume if you’d like, but not too scary. Only one slot per evening please. We are not able to move volunteers to other areas in the short period of time you are there each evening. We CANNOT accept walk-ins the night of the event. Hello Key Clubbers!
With halloween coming up, and the month of October quickly coming to a close, you need to get your hours in, and here’s some ways to do that:
-Make Happy Halloween Cards for the residents and stop by after school to hand them out and talk to residents! (you will get hours counted for the time you were there handing them out AND the time it took you to make them! Remember, it doesn’t have to be anything really elaborate – just a sweet note or happy picture, you can also make one and then make copies of it!)
-I got emails from people interested in playing music for the residents so come in right after school this week, bring your instrument, and come play in the area where they eat dinner (they eat about 4:30 everyday so this is a perfect time to come)
There is a sign in sheet at grace to record your hours. You must document them there AND ALSO log them online on the jenks key club website to get your hours counted!
TAKE A PICTURE OF YOURSELF VOLUNTEERING WITH YOUR CARD OR INSTRUMENT YOU’RE PLAYING OR JUST WITH ONE OF THE RESIDENTS!
Also if you can shoot me an email to let me know when you are going to go volunteer this week!
for the Remind 101 text @gracekey to the number 81010
Volunteers!! For those that signed up for the Grace Living Center board project, get ready to receive information on how to volunteer soon!!
Happy Monday, Volunteers!
You guys did an amazing job this month; we had a pretty good amount of hours for this month! Let’s keep the great work up!
Remember, today is the last day to turn in your hours. If you, by any chance, forgot to sign in one day before volunteering, just email me the date and the approximate beginning and ending time.
One last note, Key Club does not complete forms for Distinguished Service Graduate. Forms for those can be found outside of Mrs. Nunelee’s room on the MASC second floor. Those hours will be due the tenth of each month.
Next month, October, will be filled with some sweets and spooky fun! I’ll keep you guys updated.
Hello fellow Key Clubber!
I’m excited to have your interest in my project. I have been volunteering at Grace Living Center (located behind the track fiekds( for most of my high school years. The kids there (Kindergarten and pre K) are the cutest little people and the elders and employees at Grace are the sweetest. I have included some general information about Grace Living Center. Happy volunteering! [:
When can I volunteer?
Any time! However Grace’s Garden (the school) dismisses at about 2:45 but the kids usually stay until 3 while they wait to be picked up.
How do I get my hours counted?
Distinguished Service Graduate hours are different than Key Club hours. To get your DSG hours counted, fill out the form and return it to the basket in the counselors office. To count your Key Club hours, sign in in the striped binder located in Grace’s Garden.
Where is Grace Living Center?
Behind the Jenks Track field and the Freshman Academy!
How can I contact you?
You can stop me anytime you see me in the hallway or find me on facebook!
